United under the theme “One Night, One World”, over 425 SITE members and industry colleagues, including more than 100 IMEX Hosted Buyers, came together at SITE Nite Europe for an evening of solidarity, celebration and business exchanges. The event, hosted by the SITE Foundation at the historic Kameha Suite, Frankfurt, Germany was one of the most popular events of IMEX week. Peter Murphy, Operations Director, Priavo Security, London, England was the winner of a raffle for a four-night, luxury trip to Munich and Lake Starnberg.
SITE Young Leaders hosted a panel discussion “Bridging the Gap” to explore similarities and differences in generational views of trending topics in the incentive travel industry. Topics included: current challenges in our global industry such as the aviation ban on electronics, terrorism, and political instability; how to set millennials or entry-level employees up for success in the current marketplace; and how to leverage creativity to produce highly engaging programs on a budget. Moderated by Cossimo Bruzzese, Vice President of Business Development, Briggs, the panel included: Alejandro Verzoub, President, AV Business & Communication; Padraic Gilligan, Managing Director, SoolNua; Greg Byrnes, International Events Sales Director, Northstar Meetings Group and Stuart Thornton, Director of Sales & Marketing, Hotel Solutions.
SITE members enjoyed a break from the busy show floor to visit with friends and be treated to traditional German fare at a Member Reception hosted by the Munich Convention Bureau.
Chapter Leaders came together for a luncheon and meeting with SITE Leadership to get the latest updates on our events, strategic priorities and to share best practices.
Olga Navarro, SITE Board Member and Hugo Slimbrouck, SITE Director of Business Development-Europe presented a session on the link between motivation and incentives.
Dr. Patrick Patridge was recognized with the 2017 SITE Jane E. Schuldt Master Motivator Award during the IMEX Academy & Industry Awards Gala Dinner, 17 April. This year the Master Motivator award was renamed in honor of Jane E. Schuldt, CITE, CIS, former president of World Marketing Group and past president of both SITE and the SITE Foundation. The award is presented annually to a SITE member who upholds the highest standard of excellence in creating and delivering successful incentive travel and motivational events and exudes energy, enthusiasm and a collaborative spirit in support of the global incentive travel community.
